HIPAA and PHI

Particular demographic, health, and/or health-related data gathered by UBERHEAL about users as a part of providing facilities to healthcare providers may be considered "protected health information, or PHI, and is ruled by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability." Mainly when UBERHEAL is providing administrative, functional, and other assistance to a healthcare provider, this provider is a covered entity (as such term is defined in HIPAA)

To offer those services, UBERHEAL receives recognizable data about a user on behalf of the health professional; UBERHEAL is acting as the health care provider's "Business Associate" (as such term is defined in HIPAA). HIPAA protects the security and privacy of PHI while limiting how it is used and disclosed. Please read your health provider's notice of private information to know how your PHI may be used and disclosed. HIPAA does not cover personal data (as defined below) that is not PHI. Personal data provided by a User to UBERHEAL when UBERHEAL is not acting as a business associate is not considered PHI.
